Hello! My name is Christine Escobar. I am a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW). For the past 15 years, I have worked with people recovering from grief and loss across their lifespans. It is a privilege and an honor to work with those healing from grief and loss and facing complex life challenges. My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in sociology and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver, as well as a master's degree in business administration from Hawaii Pacific University.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).  I am pursuing additional training and certification in SFBT, an evidence-based approach. supported by significant outcome and process research. This language-based approach is built on a co-construction between the client and the therapist. Using this language-based approach, we co-construct your desired outcomes or “best hopes” for each session. With a focus on hope, the trajectory of our work shifts from a problem focus to what you hope for the most. This shift facilitates change through honoring your agency and autonomy without re-traumatization or re-experiencing a painful past.

Growing up in Hawaii, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of my environment and outdoor sports, including surfing, windsurfing, paddling, swimming, running, and cycling.  I also lived in Colorado and enjoyed Colorado’s mountains and outdoor sports, including skiing, hiking, cycling, and triathlons.  Currently living in the beautiful desert of Arizona, my favorite activity is spending time with my dog, KeKoa, walking, playing and engaging in rally, agility, and obedience training.

I look forward to working with you to make your dreams a reality.
